Coffee has always been the most natural form of energy boost for us when we run out of breath again. However, because of the bitter taste, we could never drink the coffee without milk and / or sugar. We wanted to change that! We started to learn about the world of coffee. During our research we came across nitro cold brew coffee. The advantages of the cold brew method in connection with nitro (nitrogen) convinced us immediately and the idea for COFFRIGO was born!
After countless rounds of testing and trying out, we decided in collaboration with Black Matter for a varietal Caturra (Arabica) from a farm in Costa Rica. The bean is roasted extremely energy-efficient in small 15kg batches and tailor-made for the cold brew method. Coffee is a natural product that lives from a healthy environment and when grown properly it helps to maintain it through its negative CO² footprint. It is therefore in our interest as well as that of the environment to consistently produce our product sustainable. At the same time we maintain the highest quality standard.
This is possible for us through our cooperation with motivated like-minded people. Starting off with the coffee farmers, who value biodynamic cultivation, continued with the end customer, who wants to enjoy his coffee with a clear conscience. Every step in the value chain is designed to leave no waste and to be energy efficient. No waste is not a promise – it is a fact. Even the coffee grounds resulting from the production process are processed further – the product is still in development.
